How to Choose a Pavingstone

Making a paver choice can be overwhelming, where do I start? That’s a common question we often encounter. I will try to simplify the process but remember there is no right or wrong decision; it ultimately comes down to personal taste.

Start by actually marking out and measuring the area you wish to pave. If you have curved edges a common way to do this is to use several garden hoses to layout the perimeter of your area.  Next sketch out that area with it’s measurements onto a piece of paper. This will also help later when you need to calculate the square footage of pavingstones you need to purchase. If the area is a patio that is next to your house, take a picture of that area of your house, it will assist us in making color suggestions.

Next, bring to our office the sketch along with a print out of the picture of  your home. The salesperson will then direct you to our two display areas where you will see over 33 styles & colors of the most popular pavers installed. When looking at the display write down the name of at least 2 of the styles and or colors you like, remember this is just a starting point. Return to the office with those selections. Based on what you saw and liked the sales staff will utilize your sketch and picture to make helpful suggestions. We currently stock approximately 24 different styles and colors that are normally delivered within 1 to 2 days. If you choose a style not in stock it will usually be delivered to your home within 7 days.

Also ask a sales consultant in the office for your free copy of the paver idea catalogs. Look through the catalog to get general project ideas but NEVER make a selection from any catalog, the color and texture is not accurately represented.
